Why is church membership important?
The purpose of membership is for maturing in Christ and for stirring up love and good works in believers. The Bible is clear that we should be a part of an assembly of believers in Hebrews 10:25. This assembly encourages us to continue in the faith, and allows for discipleship by studying the Bible and hearing the preaching of the Word of God. It also provides accountability and discipline to keep us on the path toward righteousness. Additionally, this assembly provides opportunity to learn and to grow in your spiritual gifts and to allow you to minister to others. How do I become a member?First, you must be a born-again believer and have followed the Lord Jesus Christ in water baptism. Following this, you must attend all three classes of our Membership 101. During these classes, the pastors will discuss our core beliefs and what is expected of the membership of ACF. This is the time to learn the vision of the church from the leadership and to ask any questions that you might have. You will be asked to sign a covenant agreement that you will abide by requirements for church membership. Then you will be presented to the church as church members at the next regularly scheduled meeting.
